  • DePaul Book Club: Good Night Yoga
Posted on October 27, 2016 by Rachel Mende

51hbvtdq1ul-_sx258_bo1204203200_Good Night Yoga is a pose by pose bedtime story that is a delight to read with your child. It teaches simple, kid-friendly yoga moves to help your child release extra energy before bedtime. As you read about how nature is slowly going to sleep for the night, you and your child can stretch like a tree, sparkle like a star and float like a cloud. The author, Mariam Gates, chooses poses that encourage self-soothing and relaxation.  Wouldn’t this be a wonderful way for both of you to end your day and hopefully catch a few more zzzz’s?

Yoga not only promotes relaxation, but improves flexibility, body awareness, calm breathing and balance.  It is also a lot of fun and perfect for the imaginative minds of children!  So, breath in and breath out and slide yourselves toward a peaceful night.
