Tip #2: Read to your child every day. Each time you read to your child, you are helping his/her brain to develop language fluency.

Mustaches and Microbrews

On Wednesday, April 29th, 2015, the Young Professionals’ Committee of DePaul School for Hearing and Speech held its 2nd annual fundraising event. This year’s theme is “Mustaches and Microbrews,” and invited young professionals from the greater Pittsburgh region to don their best ‘staches to raise money and awareness for DePaul School. The event was a HUGE success! Thanks to everyone who came!

The DSYP was established in 2014 by enthusiastic young adult professionals who volunteer their time, talents and energy to support DePaul School. New members are always welcome! For more information about the DSYP, please contact Sara Baines-Miller at 412.924.1012 or depaulschool@depaulhearingandspeech.org.

Tip #4: Deaf and hard of hearing children who receive early intervention services have been found to have better language outcomes up to age five.
